Page navigation broken

    Hello,
I’ve notice that the page navigation is broken, if the postpage is not the landingpage.
In the homepage settings, we use a static page and for the post page, an extra definend page. If we do this, then the page Navigation will not do his job correctly. There the Navigationbar is shown, but not working. I can click on it and it will forward me to example.com/page/2, but this will show only the content of the first page.
But if I change in the homepage settings, that the landingpage will be the postpage, all works allright.

I am unable to reproduce this error in our development server.

A couple of things to try:

    1. Go to WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks, and click the “Save changes” button. This will cause WordPress to rebuild the internal link structure.
    2. Temporarily deactivate all plugins to see if it’s a plugin conflict.

yes there was a problem with a plugin
I’m German, so I had use a plugin, that called wp-permalauts, that makes for us, german user, easier to read the permalinks. This plugin changes the charakters from ü=>ue, ä=>ae, ö=>oe, ß=>ss, and so on, I deactivated this plugin and rebuild the permalinks, and there it works.

    Thaks a lot
    Best regards Rico
