Option to not use Google Fonts

    Hi there,

I’ve been following discussions on WordPress Slack regarding privacy regulations and the implications of using Google fonts. It seems WordPress is going to move to not using Google fonts as these are notorious at tracking users and this is a problem for privacy.

For this reason I’d like the option to not use Google Fonts in Graphene, maybe use an open source font instead? Could that be enabled for Graphene? I think it’s going to be a growing concern, particularly for European hosted sites.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. In Graphene Plus’ typography options, there is already an option to replace Google Fonts with standard web fonts.

We’ll add a feature to turn off Google fonts in a future Graphene update.

Thanks for the response, that would be really good.

One option would be to simply bundle the fonts with the theme rather than loading them from Google, this would get around the privacy concerns.
