It’s a technique I still have much to learn about, but it’s called using sprites in css. Do a google search for “css sprites”.

To answer your question, the color is taken from a graphic file. Specifically, it is called sprite_h.png and it is located in your /wp-content/themes/graphene/images folder.

The image is not editable as it is… however, you can use a photo editing software, such as Photoshop, to open the file and add a layer with the color changes you prefer.

TIP: I changed mine also… and if I remember correctly, it is the very top graphic in the .png file. Basically, you will see a strip about 1000 pixels long and only 1 pixel wide. So you will have to zoom in to see it clearly.

Hope this helps you. It’s a little complicated to do, but it is certainly possible.

Actually, one way to make this easier is to use Photoshop or Gimp to make the image 50px wide first. Then you can see what you’re editing. When you’re finished, crop the image to the original height x 1px wide. Mischief managed!

You can actually download the theme’s PSDs here: http://code.google.com/p/graphene/source/browse/#svn%2Ftrunk%2FPSDs

First…you guys are the best. I love the Graphene theme, and the support network here is amazing! I’m new to WordPress. Been hosting my site on blogger until now. Syahir, I found your code site above but can’t figure out how to actually download PSD’s to work on them in Photoshop.
