Managing a dual-language website
-
First, I want to thank for your creating this theme. As a first time wordpress user, it was clean, professional, and easy to use.
I made a website in English (www.taamstn.org), and now I need to translate it into French. I would like to be able to do the translations manually, but I would like to be able to use the same child theme and link between the two languages. What is the best way to do this? Is there a plug-in that has worked particularly well? I’m overwhelmed by the options and want to make this as simple as possible to update. I apologize if this is addressed elsewhere and I missed it. I appreciate your advice!

I would recommend WPML. I use it myself, and I prefer it over the other plugins because of its full-fledged features and continuing development.
I tried qTranslate before, but I really don’t like that it mixes the untranslated and translated content in the same post. WPML separates each language into their own posts, but maintain the link and relationship between them.
Besides, the team at WPML has officially certified the theme to be compatible with their plugin. So go on and give it a try!
