"manage_options" necessary for some theme-options?

  • MaHeHe

I tried to change the slider-options in my WP 3.3.1 – Graphene 1.6.2 – Installation.

I tried to change the IDs in “Show specific posts/pages” with a limited user role (“edit_theme_options” activated and “manage_options” deactivated). It didn’t work. It worked with “manage_options” activated.

Is this a problem caused by Graphene or by User Role Editor (http://www.shinephp.com/user-role-editor-wordpress-plugin/)

It seems to be caused by the plugin. I’m not familiar with this plugin, but it doesn’t seem to be a bug or compatibility issue, but just the way the plugin works. It might consider this aspect of Graphene to be an “option” rather than a “theme option” since the slider is based on jQuery, which comes bundled with WP.

This is an issue on WordPress side, but they have fixed it in 3.3 via a filter which I wasn’t aware about.

Will be fixed in Graphene 1.7.
