Hi, could anybody tell me the best way to put my site into maintenance mode while I make some big changes.

    Thanks

There are plugins that will manage this for you nicely.

Keep in mind, though, that when people go to a website, most of them expect to see a website there. Maintenance mode is a real annoyance to a lot of people.

    Thanks Kenneth,

maybe you are right. Perhaps I will just make a few changes at a time over a longer period.

Graphene also allows you to export color settings and theme settings, so it is worth looking into setting up a test site or a localhost site (WAMP, LAMP, or MAMP) that you can experiment with. It’s what I generally do.

Thanks for this Kenneth I have decided because it’s a school site it’s unlikely there will be people on the site later tonight. I do have another problem which I will post on a new entry.

Also can’t find the button to mark this resolved has the page been changed?.

“Resolved” only shows up in Support, not General Talk. Moved and marked as Resolved.
