Leave Comment Link After Posts Not Working
-
I am just starting a site called RandomNBAFan.com. I have three posts on my home (blog) page (www.randomnbafan.com) and beneath each there is a “Leave comment” link which appears to be inoperable. When one clicks on that link it sends them to the archive page for that particular post, the archive page uploads but it seems that the page may not upload completely, as the status bar shows that data is still being transferred. There is no place that shows where one can post a comment after clicking that link. Can anyone tell me what I can do to get that function to work properly?
Thanks,
Mark

Your permalinks seem a little weird to me. Are you creating posts or pages?
Kenneth,
I have both. The homepage has posts, but all the other pages of the site are just pages and will not have posts on them. This is the custom permalink structure I chose /%monthnum%/%day%/%year%/%page%/%postname%/ Do you think that is causing the issue with the leave comment function on the posts? If so, is there anything that you can suggest that I may want to try to get the function to work properly.

Not sure what this means. Pages and posts are two separate entities, at least as far as WordPress is concerned. See this page from the Codex for clarification.

There is no “%page%” tag for permalinks. See this page from the Codex for a list of permalink tags.

Well, if WordPress can’t figure whether you’re dealing with a page/post/something else, that may be the cause. I’ve never seen your issue before, so I’m not entirely sure what is going on here. Let me know what you come up with and we’ll keep working on this. (Sometimes the problem you see is not the problem you have.)

Thanks Ken. When I looked at the permalinks page you sent to me I did in fact notice that there is no %page% tag for permalinks. I apparently just wanted it to be there. I removed it from my custom permalinks structure and that took care of the issue. Thanks again for your help.
