    I’m having a major problem with the new display settings for the 1.3.1 version. I want to have full posts visible on my front page, as I had always done in the past. I am unable to do that, however. If I turn on the slider, which I love, then I have this annoying black bar. If I show the full text of the posts on the front page, instead of excerpts, I have the annoying black bar.

    Also, all posts made before yesterday are…indented for lack of a better word. They are pushed over and hanging off the edge. They are the same size as the new posts or something.

    I’ve even tried to delete the theme and re-install it, but it came back with my latest settings intact. Nothing has changed. The only way the black bar will disappear is to turn off the slider and keep the excerpts. I do not like the way that looks at all, especially since I don’t know how to control the featured image size or what part of the picture is shown. It’s not attractive.

    I love this theme, but very, very frustrated now. Please help!

    The black bar is the one that is normally at the bottom of the page with copyright info. I don’t know how to move it, though.

    Here’s what I’ve done so far. I validated the CSS and fixed the problems. That has helped with some of my issue. I can now use the slider, and I actually like it better the way that it is, though I wish I still had the blue border. I cannot, however, display full posts on the front page. Only excerpts.

    Also, on both the front page and the individual posts, I have lost the blue header to each of the widgets that I have in the sidebars. On the posts, I now have all the images from my footer widget running vertically below the text of the post, instead of horizontally.

    I really hate to sound so useless, but I just don’t know enough about CSS and all of this. I feel like every time I fix something, that I mess something else up. I would appreciate any feedback anyone can give me. I’m going to leave it alone for a few hours, so if you’d like to take a look: http://indiereaderhouston.com

    Looks like there are some changes with the theme’s style.css file in your website. Try restoring that file to its original content for 1.3.1 release: http://code.google.com/p/graphene/source/browse/trunk/graphene/style.css?spec=svn116&r=116

    Thank you very much for your help!

    I just tried that, and it restored the blue top borders to the widgets, but it did not fix the problem with the excerpts. The black bar that should be at the bottom is still at the top, and the sidebar is still down below the post. I’ve left it this way so that you can see what it looks like. Please take a look. I’d love some more help. http://indiereaderhouston.com

    I know I could just suck it up, but I really don’t want to use excerpts on the front page.

    Looks like there’s an unclosed <div> in the Quick Read: Alice in Verse post. Try adding </div> in the post using the HTML mode of the editor.

    PS: This topic has been moved to the Support section. Please take some time to read the forum rules.

    PPS: Looks like you edited the theme’s files directly previously. If you wanna make any customisation, it’s much better to use a child theme.

    Thank you so much!

    I didn’t knowingly make any changes to the theme files. I do have someone who helps now and then. They may have done so without my knowing. I’ll try to be more careful with that.

    I really appreciate your help! My friend here couldn’t help me, and he was the one who told me to suck it up. Didn’t mean to take my frustrations out here.

    Thanks again!

    Hi Cneace

    Well It Looks like Your pictures in Slider is to small 🙂

    https://forum.graphene-theme.com/topic/my-graphene-slider-picture-setup

    Your Slider .slider-entry-wrap is controlled by:

    .full-sized .slider-entry-wrap {
    background: none repeat scroll 0 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.7);
    height: 100%;
    position: absolute;
    right: 0;
    top: 0;
    width: 35%;
    }

    Just Something about the button:

    Then again my advise your choice 🙂
