Issues upgrading to wp 3.4

    Hello!

I am using Firefox. Seems that the trouble has something to do with the WordPress update. I tried applying another theme and had the same problems.

Have contacted my web host and just did a rollback of the WordPress version…waiting for it to take effect.

Trouble may have occurred if plugins were activated at time of upgrade?

Planning to deactivate all plugins and re-install WordPress 3.4.

    What do you think?

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR YOUR FAST RESPONSE! You’re the best! 😀

You should never do more than one thing at a time, because then if you do have problems, it will be more labor-intensive to figure out what’s causing the problem. What you are describing could be a plugin issue.

    See this first bit here:

I’m new at this so I REALLY appreciate your help and advice! I read the article you posted. 🙂 Makes sense.

I am still waiting for rollback…so I have all of my plugins deactivated…I don’t have that many…not like 2 pages or anything.

Didn’t seem to have any trouble until I upgraded to 3.4 and installed a theme update pretty much at the same time…and when I updated the majority of my plugins were active.

Sounds like I should have read your article first…looks like I did it all wrong.

I just wrote that yesterday, I think.

looks like I did it all wrong.

This is how we learn. We’ll get it sorted in the end. We usually do (and quickly!).

Thank you, you are very kind 🙂

I have cleared cache, deactivated all plugins (and deleted some).

    Just have:

    Akismet

Customizer (came in with WordPress 3.4)

    Jetpack by WordPress.com

    Maintenance Mode

    Ultimate TinyMCE

    WP-CommentNavi

    WP-EMail

    WP-PageNavi

All appear to be up to date…I suppose all I can do now is wait for the rollback to take, and then re-install the new WordPress version with all plugins deactivated.

I’ll watch this post and post what happens on my end.

Thank you so much for your help and kindness Mr. Odle!

Well, successfully rolled back WordPress and re-installed 3.4 through my hosting account (with all plugins deactivated).

No change. Editing pages still only show html.

Should I completely uninstall WordPress and re-install?

Post a link to your site so we can take a look.

I unpublished all but one post (still just learning WordPress)…had it in maintenance mode..so there isn’t much there…and just reset theme…kind of embarrassing…be gentle. 🙂

I’m not entirely sure if it’s due to the WP update, but all my widgets in all sidebars are not working. Whether it be on the Front Page or the rest of my Pages.

    Cheers
