Issues Protecting Blog Posts Index Page

I have my front page set to a static page and a different page set up for the Blog Post Index page. All works fine except when I try to protect the Blog Post Index page with membership plugins. The Blog Post Index page never gets protected and all who enter the site can view it whether or not they are signed in.

All other pages are being protected properly.

I am currently using s2members, but have tried other membership plugins with the same results.

What is the trick to make sure the Blog Post Index page can be protected?

Try temporarily switching to the default 2012 theme to see if this is a theme issue or a WordPress issue.

Thanks – I figured it out. The Post Index Page is not really a page as far as the protection plugins are concerned. Nor is is a post. I had to create a new category to protect it.

Marking thread as resolved. You can do this yourself as well.
