Inegration of phpBB into Graphene theme?
While I was reading through these Graphene support, I came across this site; http://igloo.refreshcartridges.co.uk/forum/
I think he used to have this theme or something.
Anyway, how did he integrate the phpBB forum system into his wordpress theme? I would like to do the same with Graphene theme.
Thank you.AdminQuote:I think I found my own answer… 🙂 You cannot integrate it to wordpress at all. But you can create a theme that looks like part of the site. Am I right?
Correct. phpBB is just too complex to integrate into WP. It’s much easier to create modify a phpBB theme to mirror the look of your WordPress theme than trying to integrate it. I’ve done this before for a client:Quote:I think I found my own answer… 🙂 You cannot integrate it to wordpress at all. But you can create a theme that looks like part of the site. Am I right?

Thanks for the reply… Wow, what a great example of nice flow. I found this video, but it is too much work in my opinion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHzShhtkzEk
Do know, if I edit the code in phpBB, what happens when an update for phpBB comes across? Do I lose all my customization? Thanks for your insight.AdminQuote:No, because all the functions used in the theme files are defined in the WordPress files, which isn’t loaded in phpBB. Instead, I copy the generated HTML when you view the page in the WordPress site.
Thank you…. I am learning as you go kind of guy. I don’t have any formal training, but since I was a kid I learn from trial and error. Thanks for the advice.
Also this means that I could have the phpBB installed on a separate folder outside the WordPress install folder and yet can use the Graphene CSS and style right? For example, I installed the phpBB at http://sanuja.com/forum/ but my Graphene is at http://sanuja.com/blog/
Thanks.AdminQuote:Add container_16 class to both the <div id=”container”> element and <div id=”footer”> element.
Oops, THANKS Syahir. Somehow I was able to fix the issue with out doing this. Wired. I didn’t check here for few hours debugging it. But I will take your advice and add this and may be it will fix the top bar and the drop down menu.
So far I have to fix. If you know why this is happening, let me know… I tried,
margin: 0 auto;
to fix the menu issue and it didn’t work. 🙁
1. the Social Bar b/c the icons are hiding
2. the drop down menu, which won’t appear for some reason. I know the drop down menu items are there, but not showing up on the main page.
And another thing… I am learning as I fix these. Too bad the entire forum will be gone in next few weeks. I am just doing this to learn coding and CSS for fun during school break.
