Why are you messing about with the default Graphene style sheet? Graphene menus work just fine in IE9.
Do NOT hack the theme files. Make all your changes via the theme settings or a child theme and you shouldn’t have any problems—or at least, problems that are difficult to fix.
Hi Kenneth,
I just don’t know any better, I was following guidance from this forum.
I will go and figure out how to install a child theme.
the big question is… how do i create a fixed nav menu and have my dropdowns show in ie9 (that doesn’t seem to work with the default stylesheet)?
Can this be done by using a child theme or will i face the same issues.
sincere thanks for the help, I am on a clock here 🙂
cheers,

It’s not WordPress, and it’s not the theme. Have you tried disabling your plugins to see if one of them is causing an issue?
I would start with a clean install of Graphene and then use theme options or a child theme.
Hy,
Like I ( and Kenneth) said before, clean install of Graphene theme, install child theme, re size header properly (search this forum for a way how to re size it), current resizing is done wrong, every modification you made, do it through child theme don’t hack the core files, it’s wrong way trust me. Easy way is always the wrong way 😉
Hello Luko, Kenneth, Prasanna and TheNortheasthub,
Success!!! it works.
I was able to get the menu working in ie9. I was able to replicate the problem when I tried to change the color of the main navigation bar.
If I leave it black and grey it works fine.
Have you seen this bug before? In both the child theme and in the master theme I had the same issue. The only solution was to have a black navigation bar. My client wants the main menu bar to be pink, can this be done somehow?
thanks

Kenneth, I tried that originally, as soon as i change the primary menu color it makes the button disappear. When I change it back to #212121 it works again. Perhaps bug is a strong word but has this obstacle been noted before? if so is there a solution?
I did a fresh re-install on another server and I can get the pink colour, but as soon as i put the menu in a fixed position with the header then the button also dissappears.
It seems to be ie9 viewing a fixed menu with color added in the color options. Individually they work fine but together they don’t work.
I just discovered it may be in the #header-menu-wrap I added a “z-index: 20;” because the content was scrolling over the menu.
When I removed that the fixed menu with color added shows.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don’t understand why you are having this issue. Graphene runs fine in IE9 for me and just about everyone else.
