how to drill down categories via custom taxonomy

    From a category archive page I would like to be able to drill down via a custom taxonomy link, either on a widget or within a post. At the moment if I do this, it just shows all the posts in the custom taxonomy and not posts belonging to both the category and the custom taxonomy. I can’t seem to find a plugin that does this. Can anyone help me please?
