Hiding child page excerpt

    Hello,

    I am a newbie…

I am trying to hide child page excerpts from parent pages on this link: http://sezer-tech.com/careers/

    How do I do this?

    Thank you in advance,

Graphene Options > Child Page Options.

    Thank you Syahir.

However my problem is a bit different.

I want the child pages to still be listed in the parent page – Just I don’t want an automatic excerpt, but rather a custom excerpt.

This is because in my example (http://sezer-tech.com/careers/) the child pages contain tables and that makes a weird excerpt…

    Thank you again,

Oh, in that case, see this page:

    Thank you again.

However for some reason in my pages (and posts) I do not have an “excerpt” or “summary” field.

Am I supposed to activate it somehow?

    Or add a plugin?

    Thanks again,

Read through that page till the end. It mentions about the field being disabled by default and has to be enabled via the Screen Options pulldown panel.

    Thank you again.

I think I almost get it.

    Just –

I see the excerpt field can be added to posts.

How do I do this with pages? There is no “excerpt” in the “screen options” for pages…

Is it possible to have a custom excerpt for pages?

    Thank you again,

WordPress does not automatically offer custom excerpts for pages. To enable this, you will need to set up a child theme and then see this thread:

Thank you Kenneth. I think it worked. I just pasted 1 line into functions.php and the excerpts sections appeared. Thanks again

I hope you mean your child theme functions file. You shouldn’t edit theme files, because your changes will be lost at the next update.
