    I can’t figure this out.

I must have done it but I don’t know why

    check out http://whitewaterprojects.com

on any page or post (except the homepage). at the bottom is this sign up form. Yes I created it but I can’t figure out how it got on the bottom of every page, nor how to get rid of it.

I “Inspect element” on it and can see that it is in the <div id=”smp-page”> but can’t find that anywhere either.

    Stumped

    ANY help is greatly appreciated.

    Theme Graphene

    WordPress 3.3.1.

You say you created it, but you didn’t say how. It doesn’t look like you added it via an action hook widget area, so I’m assuming this is some sort of plugin? If so, check the plugin settings. If not, tell us how you added it.

BTW, videos that play automatically when you open a page are really annoying and really bad web design. They are a disincentive to a lot of readers to stick around.

Well that is kind of the point. I don’t know HOW it got put on the page. you can see that it is identical to the one on the widget column to the right on most pages.

I just don’t know how it got on the page at the bottom.

    HA! Found it.

I Hadn’t checked ALL of the plugins. Widgets yes but plugins no.

There it was a random setting on a plugin I don’t really use any more.. time for some house cleaning.

    thanks

    Peace

Oh BTW I agree about videos that start automatically, IF they have audio that starts too. without the audio I find that people don’t mind them that much. at least not my audience.

That is very true, but on slower computers or computers with slower broadband connections, they can still slow things down if you have multiple tabs open (which I often do).

It’s amazing how they accumulate. It’s a good idea to do a bit of housekeeping from time to time. Occam’s razor shaves them down nicely.
