    Can the slider background color be changed from solid white? This is my site.. http://www.campuspub.net …I love the main slider but would like to know if it has its own .css

    Sure it can. Add this to your child theme or custom css:

    .featured_slider #slider_root {
    
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #000000;
    
}

    Change the hex color to whatever you like.
