Graphene and BBPress
-
Hi,
We’ve been using the Graphene theme for a while on igloo.refreshcartridges.co.uk and on the whole we are delighted with it. We have just installed bbPress 2.0 however and are getting a weird problem whenever we try to view a profile or navigate to the root of the forum:
ERROR: You must supply the post ID to get the image from as an argument when calling the graphene_get_post_image() function.
This can be replicated by heading to:
http://igloo.refreshcartridges.co.uk/forums/users/chrisholgate/
or
http://igloo.refreshcartridges.co.uk/forums/
I have tried another theme and bbPress seems to work fine but it doesn’t look as nice 🙂
Sorry to have to send this request for help but do you have any ideas why this might be happening?
Kind regards
Chris
Have abandoned the BBPress idea and have instead set up a phpBB forum at igloo.refreshcartridges.co.uk/forum/
Now just to intregrate it with Graphene. I’m impressed by the way they have done http://www.hervecuisine.com/ as shown in the ‘websites which use Graphene’ showcase.

There is defninitely plan to add BBPress compatibility to the theme. As for phpBB, I don’t think you can integrate phpBB with WordPress, as these are two entirely different systems.
What I’ve done with the HerveCuisine website (yes I did the customisation for that site, all using a child theme) is that just modify the template or skin that is used for the phpBB forum to match the looks of the Graphene theme, so that visitors will have an illusion that the transition is seamless, and that the forum and the site is all integrated together when in actual fact they’re not.
Many thanks for getting back to me. Skinning phpBB is the route that we went down; at the moment it isn’t quite there but I reckon this week it should look pretty seemless 🙂
Thanks for your help and for the fantastic theme.
Hi,
Same problem with my bbpress forum index display.
Do you know how to resolve the issue ?
Please check my website at : http://seggiscolaire.com/forums
Thanks

bbPress compatibility will be added to the theme in the upcoming version 1.6. If you like, you can also try using the current development version of the theme, which is already compatible with bbPress.
You can checkout the current development version from the theme’s SVN: http://code.google.com/p/graphene/source/checkout
PS: If you have no idea what SVN is, you’d probably want to wait until version 1.6 is released. Using development version for live website is not recommended for most of us.
I’m having the same issue. I did, however, get BBPress to work within Graphene otherwise. It looks great, but integrating the site-wide forum plugin throws the error everyone here’s talking about when accessing the root “forums” page. I’ve posted instructions for getting BBPress to look right here: http://skillzdesign.com/blog/clarifies/buddypress-and-graphene/
I suspect you’ll have BBPress fully integrated soon and those instructions will no longer be needed…
