Front page widget area and child theme

I’m not sure how, but when I extended the slider on the front page my right sidebar widget area seems to have disappeared. I have unchecked the ‘extend slider to width of theme’ box and the slider remains the width of the theme and the widget area is gone. Any ideas?

Also, is there a way to disable complete the child theme (or what I think is the child theme). In the default it has “Home” and the preview of the home page. I removed the contents on the home page and checked the box to hide the parent and the child theme which just condensed it to a bar that says “Home” now. Can I get rid of it competely?

    Thanks for any help!

Try refreshing your browser (CTRL + F5) and your server cache, if you are using one.

I think you mean “child page”.

A very quick search of the forum suggests:

Thanks! I tried to refresh, but it still doesn’t show the widgets in the side bar.

I tried to add the custom CSS that was in the thread you mentioned, but it’s not working either. It’s highly possible I just don’t know where to put it.

I figured out the widgets, the page attributes were changed from the theme default. Switching this fixed the widget issue.

Still working on the “Home” bar. If I remove the title from the page, it doesn’t show up in my menu.

Put code in Graphene’s “Custom CSS” feature. It’s at the bottom of Display options.
