    Hi

My WordPress installation keeps telling me that I need to update the above plugin that I purchased but it fails every time. I have version 1.0 and the latest version is 1.01, can you help please?

    Kind regards

Are you getting any sort of error message?

    Hi Deryn,

This is usually due to missing API Key in the addon’s options. Go to WP Admin > Appearance > Franz Josef Options > Addon Options, and make sure that you have entered your API key for the Hooks Widgets addon.

    Hi Syahir

The API Key ending in 6168 has been entered, (I did enter it again just to make sure) but I’m still getting the same problem with the following error code:

    Downloading update from http://updates.graphene-theme.com/download.php?key=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx6c9d1&api=…

    Unpacking the update…

“An error occurred while updating Franz Josef – Hooks Widgets: The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature”

I’ve removed the key= just in case but it does appear to different from the key I was sent when I purchased the add-on??

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards

Your API key should appear in the “Downloading update” link after the api= portion, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Try to re-check for updates on your WordPress Updates screen to force WordPress to clear its update cache and use the new link.

Otherwise, you can still login to your account page on graphene-theme.com and download the latest copy from there:

    Hi Syahir

Thanks for the advice, it does look like the API key is showing but for some reason just keeps failing. Instead, what I’ve done is deleted the original version and uploaded the new version from my account area as you mentioned which seems to have worked ok.

    Many thanks

    Deryn
