"First image in post" slider image doesn't work

If I set a featured image for a post and then set the “Slider image” to “Featured Image”, everything works exactly as I would expect.

However, if I set “slider image” to “First image in post”, then even when a post has an image, the slider image turns out to be the default image (this one: graphene/images/img_slider_generic.png).

Does something special have to be done to the image that is in the post in order for it to work with “first image in post”?

I noticed the same thing. For me, it occurred when using a first image that was already n my wordpress media library.
