Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted

My website is http://www.marion6.org. I have been using the Graphene theme for more than 5 years.

Today, when I tried to customize Graphene settings, I got the following error message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 8420 bytes) in /home/content/51/3728651/html/wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4843

I do not understand this message.

So, I tried replacing the /wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php file from a former backup but then all I got was a blank page when I selected customize.

What do I need to do?

I also deleted and then reinstalled the Graphene theme and still get the same error.

The error means the server is not getting sufficient memory allocated. See this post on how to increase the memory limit for WordPress: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/fix-wordpress-memory-exhausted-error-increase-php-memory/

Thanks. Before I got your reply I deactivated all plug-ins and then activated them one at a time while checking access to customization. After I finished activating them, I was still able to gain access to customization. But I will follow your suggestion.

    Thanks again!

Thank you for the direction. It fixed the issue.
