Hello! How do I add facebook ‘recent posts’ and ‘like button’ to emberry.com?

I tried the code created here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box/

and I posted it into a text box on the second widget on the front page

    <div class=”fb-like-box” data-href=”http://www.facebook.com/TimelessYogaMoncton” data-width=”292″ data-show-faces=”false” data-stream=”true” data-header=”false”></div>

    Thank you very much,

Quite frankly, this FB code is a pain the bottom.

    There are three options.

    1) If you get the HTML5 code, you need to add the JavaScript SDK in the <head> of your page, which means a child theme with that code added to your function file. Then you would add the above code to a text widget.

    2) If you get the XFBML code, you need to get add the JavaScript SDK code to your header, and add information to the <html> tag of your document. Not easy.

    3) If you get the IFRAME code, you can just dump that into a text widget, but–guess what–IE has problems handling them sometimes. (Surprise, surprise.)

The third option is probably your easiest, the first is doable, and the second is probably right out.

I’ll look into iframe code and if I don’t get that – I’ll look on wp web site for a facebook option – thanks for speedy info!

There are also a number of facebook plugins that people use. You might want to look through some of the sites on the Showcase, and if you see something that you like, you can often use your browser’s “View Source” function to see which plugin they are using.

I actually found out that there is an easier way.

First, you need to create an action hook widget area. Read this tutorial if you’re not sure how:

    http://blog.kjodle.net/2011/11/04/graphene-action-hook-widgets-an-easy-way-to-modify-your-blog/

Go to Graphene Advanced Options, and click on “header.php”. Tick the box next to “graphene_container_before” and then click the “Save settings” icon at the bottom of the page.

Now, go to the Widgets pane. Drag a text widget to the “Graphene Container Before” widget area and insert the Javascript SDK code there. (Just copy from the FB page referenced above and paste into the text widget.) Save the widget.

Next, drag a text widget to whichever widget area you want the FB info to appear in. Copy and past the plugin code from the FB page into that, and save.

Navigate to your page and everything should look good. I’m testing this out on my blog. It works!
