Excerpt word limit in slider?

    Hiya,

    Is it possible to define a limited amount of words/characters that are displayed from the excerpt in the slider? The reason I ask is that some of the excerpts text is at times hidden behind the ‘View full post’ button in the slider and looks a bit sloppy, so I was hoping to be able to limit how much would feature there so I can stop this from occurring.
