Excerpt in slider, post title links

  • Johnny Canuck

    Sorry to bother you fine people again, but I switched hosting providers and am redoing my website, and I can’t remember how to do a couple of important things.

    One, what can I put in my custom css to make it so there is no excerpt area on the slider?

    Two, how do I change it so that post titles don’t act as links when clicking on them?

    For 2) I tried using the method described here:

    But it wasn’t the one I was looking for. The tutorial I had followed before involved changing settings in the WordPress dashboard.

    For 1) I basically just want the picture to show, so I need to get rid of the grey overlay and the “view full post” button.

    If you want just picture to show, – Add this to custom CSS. This removes whole excerpt area. No Gray overlay will be remained.

    .full-sized .slider-entry-wrap {
    display: none;

    To remove excerpt and View full post, retaining post titles,

    .full-sized .slider_post_entry p, .full-sized .block-button, .full-sized .block-button:visited {
    display: none;

    Please add a link to your site. It is very difficult to give suggestions without looking at your site.

    You da man, Prasanna. That solved issue #1, there’s no excerpt area over the slider, and everything is working exactly the way I wanted it. (I knew somebody here would know the magic words!)

    Now I just have to figure out how to make the title of the post so clicking it doesn’t open the post. I want it to remain blue as though it were a link, but clicking does nothing.

    For your 2nd question, ‘Wait for 1.6 update”

    Ok, thanks again Prasanna.
