easy h1-h6 modification?

    Hello,

    which would be the easiest way to modify the style options for H1 – H6?

    i have used wp google fonts with other themes, but it doesn’t seem to work with graphene.

    also, graphene allows me to add natively google fonts, but there is no clear way for a beginner like me to modify what i want.

    in graphene-options-visual-text it lets me customize a few things, but it’s not very clear what’s the difference between title, description, etc.

    would it be possible in a future option of graphene to have in the same text style configuration page a way to modify h1 – h6?

    i am not good with css, i have no idea about child style or whatever and i find it horribly non-intuitive to modify h1-h6

    thx in advance

    I really recommend to make a child theme now before you build your website if you haven’t. It will prevent you loosing anything you edit after a theme update. Once you have a child theme, you can modify different elements of your theme using Css. It is not that difficult to learn to make one, do a search on this forum for directions.

    You don’t need a plugin with Graphene, as it natively supports Google Fonts. You just need to make sure that you enter the font name as per the example. (And that the font in question is available through Google fonts.)

    What is is that you want?

    Title is the site title that appears in your header. (It is not the post/page title. A lot of people, including me, have made that mistake.) Description is the tagline that appears in your header.

    This is easily achievable through custom CSS or a child theme stylesheet. Adding a feature for it would add a lot of unnecessary bulk to the theme.

    If you don’t want to create a child theme, just use the theme’s built-in custom CSS feature. In that box, add:

    h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 {

    }

    And put whatever style items you want on the blank line. For example, to add an underline to these elements, just add:

    h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 {
    text-decoration: underline;
    }

    If you want to modify your blog beyond the theme options, then you really need to learn a little CSS. Fortunately, there are some good resources here:

    and the moderators have good articles on their websites as well.

    There really is no substitute for experimentation, so try out different things, and if you get stuck, post the code you are trying out here and we can help you to troubleshoot it.

    And just to echo Ian’s advice, I highly recommend creating a child theme early, rather than later. It makes things a lot easier.
