Duplicated Posts in Slider
-
I currently have a slider at the top of my blog page. I have it set to “show latest posts.” The dots at the bottom of the slider indicate that it should show the 5 most recent posts. Based on these settings (and how it’s worked in the past), I would expect the posts to show up in this order: 1 (most recent), 2, 3, 4, and 5 (oldest). However, the slider is showing the posts in this order: 5, 5, 1, 2, 3, then it remains stuck on the last dot and shows post 4 before starting the cycle over. Is there a known fix for this? Can you help?
Thanks!

This is not a bug, but most likely some sort of plugin conflict. Have you recently installed or updated a plugin? When did you first notice this happening?
I would try disabling plugins one at a time to see if this is actually the reason. If not, we will look at other factors.
It was the WP Facebook Like plugin. Thanks for the tip! Do you have any idea how I could fix it while continuing to use the plugin? Or would I need to contact them for help?
Thanks!
Nevermind. I figured it out. Just in case anyone else runs into this problem: Go to the settings for the WP Facebook Like plugin, scroll down to Advanced Settings > Embedding method, change from xfbml to iframe.

ahhhh…plugin issue. Glad you figured it out.
I believe that xfbml is unique to Facebook, which means it can’t possibly be compatible with everything. iframes, on the other hand, are more universal, and therefore, work with a broader range of coding schemes.
The only solution may be to wait for FB to upgrade/update their code so it plays nice with others, but my impression is that they are waiting for everyone else to change their code to play nice with FB.
Thanks for the quick response and the help! I appreciate it!!

You’re welcome. I added a couple of tags to help others looking for solutions here. (And thank you for marking this thread “resolved”.)
