I’m very interested in the graphene theme and want to commend you on your work. I’m working on redesigning my employers wordpress website. The company is a sporting goods store, and the desire is to display product information, events and sales on the site. We are not an online store. (sportsmanskihaus.com)
Before I switch themes, I have a question about the slider. We want to use our blog for sales and events, a page that would come after the home page on the menu bar. We do not want the slider to appear on the sales and events page, but on our static home page.
Does the slider have to be on the same page as the blog? If so, should I disable it and install another slider on the static home page?
Also, must the images in the slider be linked to posts or pages, or can I use images uploaded to the media library?
I use a static homepage with homepage panes. There is a slider on that page, with a separate blog page with no slider. (You probably wouldn’t want to use the homepage panes options—if you’re scratching your head wondering what that is, don’t worry about it.) I believe that this is the setup you are looking for.
I’m not entirely sure about the slider images (I only use mine for posts), but I believe that the answer is yes. Search through this blog, and I’m sure you will find the answer you are looking for.
If you get stuck implementing any of this, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
