I believe that is the image used in the excerpt on an archive page.
It is originating from your post. It is either the “featured image” or it’s the first image in your post. Try going to that image in your editor and adjust the width and height dimensions.
Without a link to the page it’s hard to be more helpful.
You can always use Mozilla Firebug extension to view real-time css adjustments… helping to identify issues such as these.
