Can't get rid of the blog area on the static home page — help!

I’ve tried hard to create a static front page that doesn’t have a blog box, but it’s still there at the top right under the header! I followed the Codex instructions for creating a static front page. Perhaps this theme requires taking an additional step? Almost there in building my site. Thanks so much!

Do you mean the slider is still there? You can disable it through the theme’s options page. There’s the Disable slider option under Slider Options in the Graphene Options admin panel.
