Can you remove categories from links? How about changing links colors?

So is there any way to remove the categories from links? I’m very new to all of this and can’t find the location of the text color parameters for links. I’d like to change it to black.

Well I’ve got a widgets for links and it wants to put them into a category. I’d like to change the color of the text for the category to black. I’d really like to convert all blue text to black. I’ve found the style.css but can’t find the custom.css location. Does this make any sense?
