Hi, I’ installed a plugin I had used with other themes but it doesn’t work right with graphene. Has I know it works with other themes is there anything I or you need to change to make it work? You can visit my calendar page at http://thereflectedtribe.com/speaking-engagements/ then go to the March 2011 calendar to select pass over my first and only speaking engagement so far. You’ll see that the text which is supposed to be displayed in a small white window shows as a wide area over the web page. Yet, the box pops up OK when passing over the event in the calendar from within the WP admin page.
If you need to look into the plugin, it can be found at http://www.wp-eventscalendar.com/

Add this to your child theme’s style.css or Custom CSS option:
border: 5px solid #ddd;

Many thanks. It worked. The only thing I then did was to add a width restriction of 500px as your CSS mode gave me a full page width box. Any way this could be added as a permanent feature of the theme? Once again thanks and I love your theme. Keep up the excellent work.

As long as you didn’t edit the theme’s files itself (i.e. implement the changes via a child theme and/or the Custom CSS option), the changes won’t be lost when you update the theme.June 5, 2011 at 3:49 pm #14567
Thanks. Just curiuous, in case I was to use your theme to create a new website, does your recent update to 1.3.1 fix this issue or will I have to add the text as you have suggested?
Also, as I’m new to all of this, if I did as you said which was to modify the style.css file, will it keep my changes? I’m not sure I know what you’re talking about when you say child theme or Custom CSS. I did though add your text at the end of the Graphene style.css theme file.

Ah…that’s a no no…you’ll lose the changes when you update the theme. For simple CSS modifications, use the Custom CSS option at WP Admin > Appearance > Graphene Options > Display > Custom CSS. Or you could also use a child theme: https://forum.graphene-theme.com/topic/how-to-modify-the-theme-using-a-child-themeJune 6, 2011 at 4:15 am #14569
Thanks. I’ve changed it and modified the custom css. Any ways, the last theme update got rid of my earlier mod. Thanks for your patience as I’m still learning so much. Jacques
