The blockquote won’t share space. It shows up at the bottom, below the image. Is there a way to stop it from forcing the blockquote to go below the pic?

I am going to populate the blockquote, but if it continues to go below the picture, I can’t use it.

Try adding

blockquote {clear:none;}

to your child theme stylesheet.

As this will affect every blockquote everywhere on your site, you can also create your own unique <div> and style it however you like. I tend to do this, because I later forget that I styled the blockquote (or whatever) and end up confusing myself.
