Not sure if this is a “how to” or a “feature request”. I am using custom front page widget settings because I have a static front page. The standard widgets will be for blog page. The other site pages that are info type pages do not benefit from blog widgets. Is there a way to either (a) have the front page widgets appear on those pages or (b) set up a third tier of widgest to be called upon and used on other general info pages?

Try using the Widget Logic plugin. I think it’s a much better solution than registering a whole lot of different sets of widget areas.
