Adding recent comments to blog page
I am a newbie. This is the first time I have ever written on a support forum.
I recently installed Graphene, because it appeared to be able to just about everything any theme could do. Since I don’t know code, I was hoping for a user friendly interface. I have a new website that I’m trying to make a correctly functioning site.
Now, I need to add some widgets to my website. I tried, but I was only able to add one widget on my Welcome page (static page). Now, I want to have a “Recent Comments” sidebar on my Blog page.
Can someone recommend a Widget that would make it easy for me to add advertizing widgets and individual pages and also permit me to have only a comments sidebar on my Blog page?
My website is: DetoxifyForABetterLife.com
Graphene will allow you to have different widgets on the front page than on all your other pages. To enable this, go to Graphene Options >> General Options >> Widget Area Options, and tick the box marked “Enable alternate front page sidebar widget area”.

You should be able to drag these over from the “Available Widgets” pane. If it’s not open, you’ll need to click on the downward-pointing arrow at the right end.

A standard text widget will do. See this tutorial:
and this one:
(I’m not sure what you mean by “and individual pages” however.)
Comments…WordPress includes a “Recent Comments” widget already.

You can use the Widget Logic plugin to control which pages widgets appear on.
Thank you, Mr. Moderator, for your quick response to my need for assistance.
When I created additional pages, I created one Blog page for posts and comments and one page for Articles (copies of the Blog page without comments). Recent Comments now shows up on my parent/Articles page, but not on the sub-pages (I don’t understand why). I want it to only be on my Blog/Posts page. I tried what you said, but I can’t see anything different. I don’t know if I’m supposed to enter something into the Widget Logic box, or what that script would be.
I envisioned being able to create widgets that could be, somehow, dedicated to one or all pages. I don’t want anything but advertisements in my right side column of my Welcome page. I would like to create many widgets, so I could copy ad code into them and place them on any page or post. My Graphene page/post setup is a two-column. I want the ads or sidebars placed in the empty right column of the pages of my choosing.
