About URL's

    Hello,

    Right now I’m building my site on a temp server on a temp folder. I will move to the proper server once done. So…

    Is it possible to enter a url, something like this:

    href=”../folder/?p=121″

    Instead of full url like this:

    href=”http://mysite.com/folder/?p=121″

    … because when I finally move it I don’t have to go look for these custom urls to redo them. I have use these full urls in several places.

    Thank you in advance for your help.

    When you move your site from /folder to root, your permalinks will be automatically changed to mysite.com/?p=121. So no need to change the permalink structure. Just specify the correct URL’s of WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) in WordPress Settings.

    Apparently, you can just keep your wordpress on /folder and locate the site on root (mysite.com). Just follow this post – http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory I have the same configuration on my site.

    Hi Prasanna,

    Is this mean this change is automatic, even in custom url link?

    For an example; I’m using a Text widget for some links, all of this links a are hand coded.

    Thanks

    Permalinks are automatic. But not hand coded widget links.
