Search button icon shows not correct in IE9+
-
Hello
Today I updated wp to 3.8 and also the graphene theme to version 1.92. Everything works and looks like before except the search button. The search function works correct. But now the search button icon looks like a blue rectangle. This happens only in the Internet Explorer Browser. In all other browers e.g. Firefox the icon shows his correct magnifiying glass symbol.
my hompage is: http://www.vintage-corvette.com
Hopefully some can help me with this issue/problem? Thanks in advance!
Holger
Same here in IE6 with the search button in the menu under header image No magnifying glass just a blue square.
Firefox ok
IE 11 displays your search button correctly. I don’t know if you have fixed the issue or it is just the older version of the browser?
Sorry I meant IE8 – no magnifying glass just a blue rectangle.
I thought it used to work – but I’ll have to see if I have an old screen dump to check
Up till now I did nothing to my side my blue rectange is still there under IE9. Is it possible to fix my problem with these explaination:
I uploaded this to themes graphene includes
http://graphene.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/graphene/includes/theme-head.php
it made no difference

It is so out of date with regard to current web standards that to make IE6 behave the same way as an up-to-date to web browser is nearly impossible.

Sorry IE6 was a typo – it’s IE8 see subsequent post

Did you make sure that
theme-head.phpfile went inside the/includes/directory?yep I renamed the old theme-head to oldtheme-head and installed the new one there
