Thank you for this fun theme! I uncovered more features the more I added things into the standard WP fields. LOVE THE SLIDER!!! Once you add an excerpt to your post, the excerpt will show in the slider. Also, I figured out how to keep the featured photo only on the slider and not have it take over the header on the individual post page. (challenging; WordPress could try to make this easier–it’s not a fault of the theme) My spouse made some changes to the theme. At first, we accidentally changed the original theme. Later, we made a child theme. I’ll be adding plugins…hope the functionality will be OK! Here is our child version of Graphene: http://www.b2bmarketingteam.com/

Though I have to take the blame for the Featured Image replacing the header image. That’s actually a feature of the theme, which is based on the default TwentyTen theme. I thought it would be cool for people to be able to have different header image for different posts if they want it.
By the way, I noticed that you’re using version 1.0.9.3. A newer version (1.1) has been released. There’s a lot more flexibilities regarding the slider in the latest version, including the ability to move the slider to the bottom of page instead of top. Since you’re making the changes using a child theme, upgrading should be a breeze 🙂
Well, I’m a little nervous about upgrading because we did unfortunately make a few changes to the main theme before realizing that it made sense to start a child theme. One day we’ll get brave and do an off-line update and make a correct child theme from the new main theme. Actually, I still don’t really understand child themes!

How did you do that with the photo in the slider?
I am only getting the default image so far.
