Hiding secondary pages from menu

Not quite sure how to explain this, but here goes.

My website is http://televisionau.com and I have a “Page” set up here http://televisionau.com/classic-tv-guides

It has a lot of links to legacy html pages from my old webpage.

What I want to do is migrate those html pages to “Pages” in my WordPress/Graphene platform which is a project in itself, but that’s not my question.

    My question is:

By having pages linked from that page that automatically populates the default header menu which is going to lead to one very long drop down menu which I don’t want. I just want readers to be able to go to http://televisionau.com/classic-tv-guides from the header menu and then they click on the links from there to go to the next pages.

I tried setting up a custom menu but in doing so found that existing header menu structures weren’t being maintained. e.g. I’d add my “About” page and its secondary pages “Contact”, “Links” and “Site Updates” to the custom menu but i lose the drop-down feature on that menu. That is, those pages appear as separate menu items not drop down from the “About” page.

Basically I want to maintain my default header menu but be able to ‘hide’ any pages that hang off http://televisionau.com/classic-tv-guides from appearing in the drop-down.

I hope I’ve explained this clearly. I’ve searched this forum already for some solutions but not having much luck. Somebody may be able to assist or is there a better I could go about setting up this structure?

    Many thanks.

That’s because you’re not using all the features of the Custom Menu. See this particular section of a tutorial on Custom Menu:

    I see… that’s excellent. I’ll give that a try when I get a chance later this evening

Thank you for the fast response 🙂
