Adding a Video Entry – theme change
-
Hi Guys,
I’m loving the graphene theme – but I’ve got a question – if I add a new entry to my blog (a youtube video) and select video from the format option on the right (WordPress 4.0.1), then save – I get a different article header layout than a standard text article…
(see the screenshot below)

The site is live at: http://www.twas.com.au/wordpress (I’ll be killing off the old Joomla monster shortly)
I’ve tried using all the options (ie Link, Photo, video etc) – they all do it – except the “Standard” option
Is there a way to make the Video format the same as the Standard option (ie the article header) – I don’t want the big video icon, or link icon, and the coloured bar and date – I want the header the same as a standard article…
Where do I change this? in Graphene? or WordPress?
Cheers,
Richard

Quote:I get a different article header layout than a standard text article…Quote:I want the header the same as a standard article…This is the correct behavior for this format option. If you don’t want this appearance, you have three alternatives:
1) Use the regular post format. (Since these post formats only affect appearance, there is no SEO gain or loss either way.)
2) Use the video format and a child theme to create your own video post format.
3) Use custom CSS to alter the appearance of the video post format.
Options 2 & 3 will require skill with CSS; Option 2 will require skill with PHP and WordPress.
