Hi,

I have a primary nav menu bar that has 8 columns with various posts in the drop down,

I have a total of 76 menu items (posts) along the 8 columns.

When I try to add more the whole menu goes berserk and will not allow any more items to be added?

Is there a limit to the number of menu items you can have?

If so how do I increase this limit?

No, but you may be running into memory issues on your server.

At some point, a menu that large becomes unusable to your users and a real disincentive for them to stick around or come back. You may want to rethink your approach to this.

I have had that style of menu for a year now and the site ranks No 1 in google for dozens of related keywords, so Im happy with the usability side of things – doesn’t reduce traffic, if anything, it climbs regularly…….

Yeah, but “traffic” does not equal “regular readers”. There are plenty of sites I only visit once because although they may have the information I need/want, it is too difficult to find it. Usability is the key issue.
