Can't Upload Pictures after WP 3.1.1 update

When I try to upload an image to the post I get this message from the uploader “has failed to upload due to an error

Failed to write file to disk.” At first I thought it was the photo author blocking the picture from saving to disk, but after being able to manipulte it in different photo editors I can only conclude that is either an error to WP’s new update, or that the theme has a compatibility issue. Any advise is appreciated.
