Hi,

I’m SUPER new to this and want to know how to remove certain page titles from the menu list. I want some of them to appear as a sidebar, and do not want them repeated in the menu. Is there a way to do this?

You want to use a custom menu.

I am not on my home computer right now, but there is a tutorial on my blog about this, or you can find a link to it somewhere in this forum. Just search “custom menu”.

You can create a separate custom menu for use in the sidebar, as well, as there is a custom menu widget available.

Thank Ken. Your blog is exactly what I needed. I do have one more question though and hopefully you can help. Within the custom menus, one of my menu items I would like to be a drop-down menu. How do I do this? For example, my menu item is ‘Lab Members.” I want to have it a drop down and list all the lab members. How it is right now, it just brings me to my ‘lab members’ page.

You have to add either a post, a page, category, tag, or custom link to the menu below ‘Lab Members’. If you don’t have any of that for them, just use a custom link as a placeholder and enter a hashtag for the link location. You can update it later.
