Worrying text in WordPress database back up
-
Okay, this is probably a WordPress rsther than a Graphene matter but as I have 3 Graphene sites I hoped I might get an answer here.
I get a daily WordPress database back up and today stopped to look through the content. My eye caught an entry that seemed to be relates to WP tavern, not sure what that is, but it seemed to be a discussion around the use “does sex sell wordpress themes” it also mentions porn themes but it seems to be a discussion about the use of such themes rather than any type of link to a sex site.
But I don’t understand why I would find this in my site’s data base and am concerned. I use the theme authenticity checker plugin and it does not show any inappropriate links
Any help on this would be appreciated my site is http://www.practicaldebtadvice.net

Where does it appear? In the content of a post, in the wp_options table, etc.?
Hi Syahir, thanks for getting back to me, I appreciate it’s not a Graphene problem
It’s certainly not in any of my posts but I now think it may be in one of my plugins. I found this link to a plugin site. http://10up.com/plugins/. This link does not show up in my TAC.
This is a copy of part of the line.

There is also considerable text from Automatic, which I think is Jetpack it’s a discussion about how the company is structured. Is all this normal content from a plugin?

Quote:Is all this normal content from a plugin?Depends on what the content is for. If it’s for showing the latest news feed in the WP Admin, for example, then it’s quite normal. If it’s to be secretly displaying on the front end, then it’s not.
Okay Syahir, thanks for your thoughts on this. I had a look at all my plugins just to make sure they came from a reputable source. They did. I also took the chance to delete a couple which weren’t really adding much. This included Jetpack which in the deleting process wiped all the CSS I had added to my child theme, not sure why.
I’m not logging it as a problem because I fixed it but maybe it’s something to consider.
Thanks again for the help
Quote:..Jetpack which in the deleting process wiped all the CSS I had added to my child theme, not sure why.Jatpack has a Custom CSS feature. Are you sure you didn’t put your Custom CSS there?
Quote:But that raises another point, there is also a custom CSS box on the Graphene options / display tab. What is the difference?child theme style.css can be cached. Custom CSS will be added to head section of each page.
Just pasted the code on to custom css and everything works perfectly. I learn something new every time I come to the forum. I often think that if anybody had the time to collate all the coding tips, scattered on the forum, into one place it would be an invaluable resource.
thanks again
