Theme Optimization and Header image with no dimension
-
Hi, in these days i’m trying to optmize my website http://www.bookandnegative.com, i’m following a lot of guide through the net and i’m using these two tools:
I have many custom header image, but i noticed (with gtmetrix) they don’t have image dimension set, usually i upload from custom header menu.
I checked your demo site too
http://gtmetrix.com/reports/demo.graphene-theme.com/AKTAMmk4
And as you can see, there isn’t no dimension set for the header image, but the tool report notify other “issues” that can be fixed, but i’m not too expert to decide if it tell the true.
Here are my two question?
1)I have to follow their tips and guideline in order to optmize the theme?
2)It is possible to set the dimension in header or other theme image that haven’t any dimension set?
Thanks for your attention.

Quote:1)I have to follow their tips and guideline in order to optmize the theme? Most of the “issues” listed on the results page is not “fixable” by the theme, but instead, relies on the site setup and configuration. That being a demo site, I didn’t take the pains of optimising it since the intention is to allow visitors to tinker around with the theme and settings.
Even without optimisation, it got a PageSpeed score of 96, which is impressive by any standard. At that level, optimising the theme further will require huge effort for very little gain.
Website performance optimisation is not trivial. If you’re interested, have a read about the performance optimisation workflow that I’ve adopted here: https://forum.graphene-theme.com/web-development/performance-optimisation-workflow-for-wordpress-sites/
Many thanks Syahir 🙂
