Fatal error when activating the helper plugin
-
Hi, I can’t post in the Graphene Mobile Neo forum yet, so just move this topic.
Anyways, I can’t activate the helper plugin for Mobile Neo, it just says “Fatal error”. Any ideas? Does the plugin or theme have any external dependencies or could there be something that would block the activation? I have Norwegian language WordPress if that could have any impact.
Tried both uploading as zip and and via FTP, both ways gives the same error… Followed the “Installation Instructions.txt” down to a tee.
Cheers,
Tommy

Hey Tommy,
Is there any other message apart from just fatal error? There should be something else, like in which file the error is occurring and on what line.
I’ll check your forum access when I get back later today.
Can’t see anything else, just that “Fatal error” in a big yellow box. Strange! I’ll see if there’s some kind of way to show more detail later today.

OK, you should be able to access the Graphene Mobile Neo forum now. If you could confirm this I’ll move this topic over there. Let me know any updates on that error message too.
Yep, it’s working now.
I tried the following now: Changing WordPress language to English (us) – no change.
Deactivating all plugins one by one – no change.
Could it be some PHP version issue?
Here’s what I have on my host:
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.1.68-cll
It just says “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.” – I can’t figure out how to debug any more within WordPress.

Can you try setting
WP_DEBUGto true in yourwp-config.phpfile, and see if there’s additional error messages appear?Tried that just now, nothing else appears. Strange…
Wait, maybe something shows up after a while… Hmm… Waiting to see if the error message reappears.
Nope. It must have been something I did while trying to debug the file.

Do you have other sites hosted on the same server? If you do, try installing and activating on the other site, just to see if it’s a server- or site-specific issue.
Also, try deactivating all plugins, and then activate the helper plugin, see if the error is still there.
Tried deactivating all plugins, didn’t help. But will test it on another site and see if it works.

OK, try this. Open up the file
graphene-mobile-neo/admin/update.phpand remove the last three lines that read:if (is_admin())
$current = get_transient('update_themes');
?>
