Social Media and Thumbnails

I am having this problem where none of my images are appearing as thumbnail options when I try to submit posts to social media outlets (Facebook/Twitter). Any suggestions?

Make sure the images are hosted on your site (i.e., you uploaded them via the media gallery or a post edit).

How are you trying to submit them? From their end, or via a plugin of some sort on your end?

Also, make sure that you disable any hotlink protection on your server as well.

If hotlink protection is not activated on your server, you would see an image below from your site:

OK, so it’s not hotlink protection.

Any other idea’s of how to fix the problem since it’s not the hotlink protection?

When I post to social media, I copy that paste the link to that blog post. Could that be a problem? I am not using any social plugins to post to social media.

When you paste that link on Facebook did you wait a while before clicking “post”

sometimes there’s a delay before the image shows
