I have found that I can modify index.php to add an H1 tag with the text “Latest News” at the top of the ‘posts’ page. However, that doesn’t seem to be the best solution as it will be overwritten with theme updates. Is there any way to accomplish this goal by modifying one of the templates (preferably without a child theme)?
You can use the Action Hooks Widget Areas feature for this.
1. Go to Customizer > Graphene: Advanced > Action Hooks Widget Areas. Click on “index.php” and tick the checkbox labelled “graphene_index_pre_loop”. Click Publish.
2. Go to Appearance > Widget, and add a text widget with your heading to the “Graphene Index Pre Loop” widget area.
