after reading through all 8 pages of ‘how to modify the theme using a child theme’, plus many others, i haven’t quite figured out my question. i think i have further confused myself with all the links with explanations in codex, functions, templates and so on. I also wasn’t sure if the posts from over a year ago work with the current themes upgrades.

Anyway, if i make a change in appearance->graphene options->display->slider top left colour, than save it, do i need to add these changes anywhere else?

i customized my header photo and background colour and didn’t need to add it to my child stylesheet.

i really have searched all morning and haven’t found this answer simply put enough for me. please be patient with me, i am planning on looking through w3schools that ken suggested really soon!

Nope. The point of those options is to make it easy for you to customise the theme. It won’t achieve that purpose if you have to then implement it manually using a child theme.

That was a very simple answer, TY & thank you for a sweet theme!

I found out why my changes were not saving… it was as simple as not adding the # symbol in front of my custom colour choice.
