script error on IE8
-
I keep getting script errors when trying to load my blog, http://sugarcookiedesign.com/blog/ in IE 8. See below.
Message: Access is denied to: http://sugarcookiedesign.com/blog/wp-content/themes/graphene/js/PIE.php
Line: 0
Char: 0
Code: 0
URI: http://www.sugarcookiedesign.com/blog/
This does not happen in either Chrome 15 or Firefox 3.6.23.
Thank you for your help. This is the first wordpress theme that I actually understood a little bit!

I don’t know. I tried this in IE8 and didn’t get this error.
Have you tried this from another ISP? When I use the computers at my local library I get a weird error from IE on one of my blogs but not the other (but never get them when I use Firefox, or when I go to another library.)
Thank you for your suggestion. My friend looked at the blog in IE8 at his college and it came up with this error which narrowed it down:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:Hosting8322205htmlblogwp-contentpluginseasy-sign-uplibincludesesu-widget-setup.php on line 5
So my solution was to deactivate the plug-in, which seems to have helped. BUT….after deactivating the plug-in, I noticed that my slider border colors are not behaving correctly in IE8. In my Graphene Options Display under Slider, I have the top left color is #633b1c (brown) and bottom right color is #ffffff, but in EI8 is shows as brown all the way around. In Firefox, it is displayed correctly.
So progress, but I’m still scratching my head.

Actually, IE8 and IE9 don’t display CSS gradients at all. The same thing happens with the slider on my bookblog. So it’s not really a theme or a plugin issue with regard to that issue.
There are a lot of other sign up widgets out there, though. You might want to try one of those. You can see them in the plugin repository.
Thank you for your response. At least I won’t be spinning my wheels on that one! I’ve found that even removing the sign up widget, it has gone back to giving me errors. It seems to have a problem immediately and the information bar down at the bottom shows that it has an error while downloading http://o.gravatar.com/avatar/8e615e26634ffbae0b…..etc. This seems to be a consistent theme. But I can’t find anybody else having an issue involving this in the manner that I am.
Also, I am able to have the Windows Internet Explorer error box open while it is loading the page, and the original error that I posted before, where access is denied pops up with my header and slider box showing. I click “close” in the error box 4 times, and then my post appears, I click close again a couple of times, and then a widget in the sidebar shows up, I click again, and another widget in the sidebar shows up. So it’s stepping through the whole loading process.
At this point I have reactivated my newsletter sign-up since that apparently wasn’t the cause of my problems and it works fine in Chrome and Firefox. So do I just give up with IE??? Very frustrating!
If you have any other ideas, they would be greatly appreciated. Heck, I just appreciate the fact that you read this post! I don’t mean to be long-winded, but sometimes just the right word can trigger an idea.
Thank you again for your time.
My friend just recently tried to load my blog page again in IE8 and this is the error message that popped up.
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:Hosting8322205htmlblogwp-includesvars.php on line 16
But everything that I have found researching this has something to do with updating. I have not updated since doing my initial wordpress install a couple of weeks ago. I have version 3.2.1
Let me begin by saying I am not fond of IE, in any capacity. And I’m not the least bit surprised to say I have trouble loading your page as well.
It looks to me like it is a script somewhere either getting “hung up” or timing out.
I had it for a second in the browser window, but I wasn’t able to copy it. I’ll try again.
