How do I add pictures to the slider and make the width and length larger?

The slider uses the post’s excerpt, so you can’t add images to it (this is a WordPress limitation of the
the_excerpt()function). If you’re talking about the thumbnail for every post in the slider, currently you can only use the Featured Image function for that. The upcoming version will provide greater flexibility for this. The upcoming version will also allow you to edit the height of the slider, but not the width. You’d have to use a child theme and edit the CSS styling using the child theme for that.
you need to use the featured image option to the right of the post area.

You need to click on “Use as featured image” and not “Insert into post”.
I have tried and tried the “set featured image” to the lower right on the post page, but it’s not working. Is there a certain setting I should be using. I was clicking on thumbnail, to the left.
Also, would it not work since I have other images in my post? Thanks.

After you click on the “Set featured image” link, you need to click on the “Use as featured image” link for the image that you want to add, not the thumbnail or anything else.
It should work regardless of whether you have other images in the post or not.
